Asking an attorney you know (ask they who they would call) or searching the Internet (using the search terms employment lawyer and the City where you live), contacting your local Bar Association (the local organization that many lawyers belong to which keeps information on who’s who) asking a friend who had a employment problem and who was satisfied with the work of their lawyer (whether they won or not), or your local EEOC office (who sometimes are aware of local attorneys who represent employees or former employees in discrimination claims). Word of mouth is how many employment attorneys are found. In Tennessee there is a website for employment attorneys who represent employees — Tennela.org.
